Job Description:

We are looking for a passionate, self-motivated, organized, and team- oriented Patent Attorney who has a thorough knowledge of Patents, especially related to the mobile communication technology space.

The successful candidate will:

  • Analyze Invention Disclosure Forms for potentially patentable subject matter.
  • Coordinate with R&D team to identify new patentable inventions and directing new data generation to strengthen patent disclosures and claims.
  • Develop and demonstrate good patent landscape awareness in view of the state of the art for indoor positioning and navigation technology
  • Conduct technology and patent portfolio assessments of potential partners and competitors

Required Background:

  • Ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented, organized, self-starter, able to communicate effectively with individuals across the team, including the legal, scientific, business and technical areas.
  • CIPO or USPTO registration as a Patent Agent or Patent Attorney is a must
  • Bachelors, Master’s or Ph.D. in a related field such as Electrical or Computer Engineering is preferred.
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience at a law firm performing patent application preparation through the full range of patent prosecution activities.
  • Should have written at least 50 originating patent applications, and demonstrated success in advancing patent applications through prosecution
  • Some knowledge and familiarity with foreign patent jurisdictions and patenting procedures
  • In-house experience at a technology company preferred. Prior experience at a small-mid size tech start-up company is a plus.
